THE GOSPEL OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST

hs

Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

 .
Luke 17:1 Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!
 .
Hey it is not like I am a new Christian, only Born again yesterday and I am still unfamiliar with real Christianity.. as I have been a Christian now even 50 years..
 .
TODAY THE GOSPEL OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST  AS PRESENTED BY MANY EVEN  THE BAPTIST, PLYMOUTH BRETHREN, DISPENSATIONALISTS IS A LIE, IT IS A FALSE, DISTORTED, OVERLY SIMPLIFIED, MAN MADE GOSPEL AND NOT A FULL GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST AS PRESENTED IN THE NEW TESTAMENT . .
 .
It is amazing how some people clearly with a false hidden agenda, try to limit the titles, scope of Jesus Christ by only referring to one title of his such as Savior, falsely neglecting deliberately all the others, and thus they falsely do not preach the whole, full Gospel of Jesus Christ .CHRIST – the anointed one- Greek for Messiah (anointed one) is Christos, Christ in English. Thus, “Jesus Christ” joins a name and a title, and means Jesus the Messiah. Christ, Messiah, Anointed One. The title “Christ” or “Anointed One” Gk. Christos “Cristov” occurs about 350 times in the New Testament.. The word christos means a person HOLY SPIRIT anointed . The Greek name for an individual “Christos” rendered “Christ” in Scripture, the basic of the term Christian now as well, comes from the Greek word “chrio” means to anoint with oil, the symbol of the Holy Spirit, one can tell if any person is a Christian cause they also can see the evidence of the holy spirit’s anointing.. so now we all can be anointed one inspectors of all Christians now too. Luke 4:18-19 (Wey) [Jesus:] “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to proclaim Good News to the poor; He has sent me to announce release to the prisoners of war and recovery of sight to the blind: to send away free those whom tyranny has crushed, to proclaim the year of acceptance with the Lord.”But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth. . . . As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit–just as it has taught you, remain in him. 1 John 2:20, 27; The word christos means a person so anointed and the word chrisma refers to that by which a person is anointed. John uses chrisma in these two verses, not speaking of the object being anointed but of the instrument of anointing. Additionally, we find a word christianos in Acts 11:26, which means “one belonging to the Anointed One,” just as Herodianos would mean “one who belongs to Herod.” As the ultimate Prophet, King and Priest, Jesus Christ was anointed when he began his earthly ministry. This anointing was predicted by Isaiah in Isaiah 61:1 when he said that the Spirit of the Lord would come upon the Messiah. In God’s time, when Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist, we are told the Holy Spirit came upon him when he came up out of the water. In other words, he was anointed by the Holy Spirit, and that without measure. When Jesus quoted Isaiah 61:1,2 in the synagogue of Nazareth, saying, “The Spirit of the Lord is on me,” he was announcing to the people that he was the Messiah prophesied by Isaiah long ago and that the anointing of the Holy Spirit was now resting upon him. Not only is Jesus Christ anointed, but the Bible tells us that every believer in Jesus Christ is also anointed. We are kings, priests, and prophets under the Priest, Prophet and King, the Lord Jesus Christ. We find references to this in many places. John the Baptist said there was another person coming after him, mightier than himself, who would baptize people in the Holy Spirit and fire. In Acts 1:5 the Lord Jesus Christ himself speaks of this, saying, “For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.” This was fulfilled on the day of Pentecost, as we read in Acts 2:4: “All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.” The Greek word for anointing is chrisma, from which we have the word chrism. Chrisma appears several times in 1 John 2:20 and 27. It comes from the root word, chriô, which means to rub something or someone lightly with a substance like oil or lotion. Thus, when John writes in 1 John 2:20, “But you have a chrisma, an anointing,” he was referring to the coming of the Holy Spirit upon every believer.;
 .
Jesus is referred to as God’s chosen in Luke’s account of the transfiguration ( 9:35 )and by Matthew ( 12:18 ) as he applies Isaiah 42:1 to Jesus. In 1 Peter he is designated as the one “chosen before the creation of the world … revealed in these last times” ( 1:20 ) and as the”living stone—rejected by men but chosen by God” ( 2:4 ). Like his fellow brothers, the Jews he was a chosen one, but now not only a chosen one, but The Chosen One.. He embodies all that Old Testament chosen ones were to have been. .But Jesus refers to his apostles as those whom he has chosen ( John 6:70 ; 13:18 ; 15:19 ), and church is also called God’s “chosen” ( Eph 1:11 ; Col 3:12 ; James 2:5 ; 1 Peter 1:2 ; 2:9 ), by virtue of now also being Christ’s body. The Church, Christian Believers “in Christ” are now rather “chosen” ones and not the Jews. The church is the object of Christ’s love and redemption, called to have fellowship with him and to continue on his anointed work.
 .
Jesus is Lord – and he shares with the Father qualities like deity ( Rom 9:5 ),preexistence ( John8:58 ), holiness ( Heb4:15 ), and compassion ( 1 John 4:9 ), to name just a few. He is co-creator ( Col 1:16 ) and co-regent, presiding in power at the Father’s right hand ( Acts 2:33 ; Eph 1:20 ; Heb 1:3 ), where he intercedes for God’s people ( Rom 8:34 ) and from whence, as the Creed states, he will return to judge the living and dead ( 2 Thess 1:7-8 ).Just as it is impossible to overstate the power, grandeur, and goodness and the the glory ascribed in Scripture to the the Son. Therefore Peter tellingly restates “sanctify Christ as Lord” ( 1 Peter 3:15 ; NASB). THE LORD – Since Jews uttered ‘adonai (Lord) instead of the divine name, the Greek Bible (c. 200 B.C.) usually translated yhwh as ho kurios, “the Lord.” Thus, “the Lord,” whether ‘adonai or kurios, equaled “Jehovah.” Not surprisingly, “the Lord” is Jesus’ most common title in the New Testament.
 .

 .
The true Kingdom Of God theology teaches that both ages are in play today and where we can appropriate God’s future glory on earth now as well.. . In other words while in the first Kingdom of God that is already here and Christ is already ruling from heaven, living is us too, even we still suffer from the consequences of living in a fallen world with sin, sickness and disease the full benefits of the Kingdom have not yet been appropriated by all, but they can be ,while the full Kingdom of God is still “not yet” here in all of its glory and power, we can by faith in Jesus Christ overcome sin, sickness and disease. The devil and his followers of course still will oppose the miracles, a Christian’s ability to live totally free from sickness and disease, and all types of other hardships, oppressions. Jesus said we will be were performing greater works, miracles than anything done by the original Apostles.
 .
The Holy Spirit filled followers of the Kingdom Now tend to also not to believe in the false escapism rapture, where the false professing Christians hoe to flee from their Christian responsibilities on earth even during the great tribulation Also among their biblical beliefs is the idea that all prophecies regarding future Israel—both in the Old and New Testaments—actually apply to the church. The Kingdom of God Now theology also the theological belief within the Pentecostal, Charismatic movement of Protestant Christianity, where the true holy Spirit filled Christian Believers believe that God gave control over the world to Satan when Adam and Eve sinned. Since then, God has been seeking believers—known variously as ”overcomers,” or “Joel’s army” to conquer the promised land, and through these people, even the social institutions including governments and laws would be changed, brought back under God’s authority. The belief is that, since believers are indwelt by the same Holy Spirit that indwelt Jesus, we have all authority in heaven and on the earth; we have the power to believe for and speak into existence things that are not, and thus we can bring about the Kingdom Age presently on earth.. .
 .
The true Kingdom of God theology does sees the second coming of Jesus in two stages: first through the flesh , works of the Holy Spirit filled Christian believers ( with today’s apostles and prophets also), and then in person upon Jesus Christ’s return to take back from Satan, over the earthly kingdom on earth already handed to Him by his Heavenly father as a result of the finished work on the cross, Jesus Christ has been victorious (the “overcomer”). Now prior to the second coming, overcomers must work to purge the earth of all evil influences until Jesus returns and all His enemies have been put under the feet of the church (including death, presumably).
 .
1 Corinthians 6:2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? .
.
While there is a true kingdom of God theology there is also a false kingdom of God theo
logy as presented by the false Christians, the Darby dispensationalists, or the generally the fundamentalists, Baptists, Plymouth Brethren professing, all the  so called Christians.. Who twist the scriptures to falsely deny any of their own need, of their personal godly acts, involvements on earth to seek and full fill first the kingdom of God. For them the Kingdom of God Now theology is another in a long line false, unbiblical, and misleading philosophies of ungodly men whose vain imaginations seek to humanize God and it is to be avoided while they still have nothing better to offer even .

Complete and total reliance on the Holy Spirit, the spirit of Christ, and leading, the gifts of the holy spirit is what generally seperates the Pentecostal Christians from the rest of Christendom
.
(Rom 8:9 KJV) But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
 .
The Pentecostal movement within Protestant Christianity places continual emphasis on the individual, personal need of the Baptism, and the gifts of the Holy Spirit, as shown in the New Testament Biblical account initially on the Day of Pentecost. Pentecostal Christians do differ significantly from other Christian groups, denominations because they do define specifically a real Christian is a person who has been baptized with the Holy spirit as evidenced by their speaking, praying in tongues, glossolalia, interpretation of tongues, which is prophecy, and the persons who thus now also has access to the miraculous, spiritual gifts of the Holy spirit as a result too.
.
Pentecostalism or Classical Pentecostalism believe that all Real Christians are Pentecostals or Charismatics and is a renewal movement within Christianity that places special emphasis on a direct personal experience of God through the Lordship of Jesus Christ, baptism with the Holy Spirit leading to Holy Spirit–filled and empowered life as well as biblical authority, and the miraculous, personal empowerment which includes the use of spiritual gifts. Pentecostals tend to also see their movement as reflecting the same kind of spiritual power and teachings that were found in the Apostolic Age of the early church. For this reason, some Pentecostals also use the term Apostolic or full gospel to describe their movement. Real Pentecostals do practise and believe and in an authentic relationship with God, the Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ, the Trinity, stemming from simple conversation with them through prayers and even fasting. They tend to believe a Christian can both be demon possessed and can lose their personal Salvation as well. They tend to put a greater emphasis on prayer over Bible reading, and thus can still even have some personal errors.. Pentecostalism as a whole now even follows four core doctrines: salvation, divine healing, baptism of the Holy Spirit, and the second coming of Christ as well as a Mission to others. These missions include to evangelize the lost, the praise and worship of God, to teach and disciple believers, and to show practical, real compassion to the poor and needy. Some Pentecostals groups still falsely teach and demand tithing. Others now falsely allow divorce. Many Pentecostals also put emphasis on the latter rain outpouring, Believing that we all were living in the end times, they expect God to presently spiritually renew the Christian Church bringing to pass not only the restoration of spiritual gifts, but also the evangelization of the whole world by the re-establishment and the mutual submission of the offices of Apostles, Prophets, Pastors teachers, evangelists. It should be noted some Pastors falsely object to their submission to others.
 .
There is no denying the fact that Pentecostal Christians believe glossolalia is a spiritual gift from God, proof of the “infilling” of the Holy Spirit. Some denominations do not even allow people to preach or become members until they demonstrate the ability to speak in tongues. It’s proof that they have been both “saved” and “sanctified.” Pentecostals in generally rejected the belief of many fundamentalists that God had ceased to reveal himself directly to man. Pentecostal do believe that God speaks personally, individually to true Believers of Jesus Christ, outside of the Bible now as well. The charismatic movement in Roman Catholic and mainstream Protestant denominations represents the same spirit. Speaking in tongues is not universal among Pentecostal Christians still because many persons now there too have still not received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, they are merely Pentecostal church adherents, observers.
 .
IT IS ONE OF THE GREATEST LIES OF THE DEVIL, MYTHS THAT ONE CAN BE A CHRISTIAN OR THAT SELF RIGHTEOUSNESS, EVEN HOLINESS CAN BE ACHIEVED WITHOUT THE FILLING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
.
Acts 8:14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: 15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive th…e Holy Ghost:16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost. as a result of the anointing of of the Holy Spirit ( Acts 10:38) and you will reflect, be more and more conformed to the image of Christ (Romans 12:2; 2 Corinthians 3:18). Your prayer life and study of God’s Word will become more meaningful. You will experience His power in witnessing (Acts 1:8). You will be prepared for spiritual conflict against the world (1 John 2:15-17); against the flesh (Galatians 5:16-17); and against Satan (1 Peter 5:7-9; Ephesians 6:10-13). You will experience His power to resist temptation and sin (1 Corinthians 10:13; Philippians 4:13; Ephesians 1:19-23; 2 Timothy 1:7; Romans 6:1-16). Acts 10:38 38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. The Holy Christian life is personally… impossible, it is impossible without the Holy Spirit –on our own. Trying to live the Christian life by your own efforts is like a ship trying to sail on dry land… Ephesians 5: 1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; 2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. 3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; 4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. 5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. 6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. 7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them. 8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: 9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) 10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. 11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. 12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. 13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. 14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. 15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, 16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. 18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; 19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; 20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; 21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God. 22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. 24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
 .
One of the biggest tragedy of Christianity is that many professing Christians are falsely trying to make themselves look good, better over others by doing their own thing, earning their way to heaven in the same way that Cain had falsely refused to do what God had told him.. As a real Christian you are Holy Spirit filled Christian and taught lead by the Holy Spirit or you are a carnal Christian or an unchristian, a natural man and thus you do still hold mostly false Biblical insights. and it will clearly show as to who you are by what you believe in, but what you say and also but also with whom you do associate with.. There are not a multiple optional possibility of beliefs or of truths in God Kingdoms You are Holy Spirit filled or are led by the devil.. as simple as that Carnal Christians are so close to being unbelievers that they are almost indistinguishable from them. Likely will go to hell with them next too. Such Christians are characterized by apathy, division, ongoing strife and a very low EQ! Carnal Christians “bite and devour one another” (Galatians 5:15) “And I brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual men, but as to carnal men, as to babes in Christ. I gave you milk to drink, not solid food; for you were not yet able to receive it. Indeed, even now you are not yet able, for you are still carnal. For since there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not fleshy, and are you not walking like mere men?” It is the Holy Spirit who renews, transforms, redeems our perceptions, beliefs, emotions, and physical bodies and who gives us the wisdom, discernments, insights. as “I have been crucified with Christ: and I myself no longer live, but Christ lives in me. And the real life I now have within this body is a result of my trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me” (Galatians 2:20).
 .
The Holy Spirit Anointing Calls us into our own ministry, service and he Challenges us to give up our life as we know it, it as more than going from childhood into adulthood, for it Announces God’s Favor, Increases our Awareness of the Spirit’s Work, Bridges gaps between God and man and ir makes many things right, and as well he gives us More of JESUS. We thus will be are Refreshed in His Presence, we will feel more Strongly about the Things of GOD, God’s Will will be made clearer to us, and our useless, old worries are Removed In Christ by His Holy Spirit we have a New enabled Mission, Ministry, Service for we not only take on a New Nature, but we are being continually Led, Fed by Him as well The Outpouring of the HOLY SPIRIT while it often is still unpredictable, it is always in His time, and it is the beginning and also summation of our Faith in the Hand of the LORD to take his own direct actions here on earth, it is God’s Person on Display, it also is something New everyday, and it can make everybody who receives it Happy, in the World To Come in the here and now too… with even abundant Joy. Seek Him, find him, take hold of Him, and above all keep him at all costs.. and all available now to us freely through Jesus Christ, to him be all the glory, the majesty always. GOD wants to set you apart. He wants you to have His Passion for everything. GOD is on the move in the earth today and He needs, uses the people full of His HOLY SPIRIT.
 .
So do Take a deep breath and breathe in the Presence of the Almighty… by His outpouring of His Holy Spirit.. We have to develop a deeper thirst for HIM as well so we can personally see experience, more of this Glory. We also have to die to self, renounce self, our own lives of this to happen as well. We all do still have to by Faith personally accept everything God has promised, had given us and by faith to fully walk in His Kingdom Authority, and we have to keep ourselves built up in the faith, in the power of the Holy Spirit, in the life of the Lord Jesus Christ, to keep on going after GOD. It is a really sad fact that too many professing Christians who claim they love God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, in reality they are still not filled with the Holy Spirit even cause they have rejected the fullness of the Holy Spirit, and his gifts being applicable today, they now falsely have limited the Gospel as being Jesus the Savior only and they wrongfully do not teach the full Gospel of Jesus the Christ now as well…. and they falsely emphasize falsely even keeping all of the old Testament commandments of God, basically in one’s own strength, and the necessary usage of Greek and heeding to the teaching of mere men, such as Darby, Scofield, over the Holy Spirit teaching us directly.. and those amongst them who do this they all basically do not have the Holy Spirit, are actually deceived, are now none of His.. They thus really are still unsaved thus. If we follow after God we will be filled with the Holy Spirit and continually live by the Holy Spirit doing all things by the Spirit and not at all by the flesh. . Eph 5:18 And be not drunk with wine wherein is excess but be filled with the Holy Spirit…
 .
But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth. . . . As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit–just as it has taught you, remain in him. 1 John 2:20, 27
 .
The Greek word for anointing is chrisma, from which we have the word chrism. Chrisma appears several times in 1 John 2:20 and 27. It comes from the root word, chriô, which means to rub something or someone lightly with a substance like oil or lotion. The word christos means a person so anointed and the word chrisma refers to that by which a person is anointed. John uses chrisma in these two verses, not speaking of the object being anointed but of the instrument of anointing. Additionally, we find a word christianos in Acts 11:26, which means “one belonging to the Anointed One,” just as Herodianos would mean “one who belongs to Herod.”John the Baptist said there was another person coming after him, mightier than himself, who would baptize people in the Holy Spirit and fire. In Acts 1:5 the Lord Jesus Christ himself speaks of this, saying, “For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.” This was fulfilled on the day of Pentecost, as we read in Acts 2:4: “All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.” Thus, when John writes in 1 John 2:20, “But you have a chrisma, an anointing,” he was referring to the coming of the Holy Spirit upon every believer.
 .
Act-1:8 “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
.
Before you can get anointed you must first get the great experience of personal salvation through Jesus Christ by admitting you are a sinner and accepting Jesus Christ as the lord of your life, if you you have not done so to date. If you are not born again, then you are not saved till you first get this great experience. Now if you are a blood washed person, if you are a saved person, you are eligible to receive the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Blessed believer, aren’t you weary of laboring in the energy of the flesh?? Aren’t you tired of going through the motions of serving God without having been anointed for the task that is yours? Well do Day by Day now, beg for His power, plead for His fullness and walk in the Spirit. Pray fervently and Ask Him to anoint you, to sanctify you, to equip you, to inaugurate you for any new job ahead for you. Ask Him for His mind as you serve. Ask Him to appropriate to you his Holy Spirit anointing, all what you need. Tell God openly that the any task you try to undertake is bigger than you and the responsibility is too great for the flesh, for without him you can do nothing. You might want to Tiptoe into a place of solitude, or in the woods somewhere. Drive away from civilization for awhile. Spend some hours with God openly praising him and praying to him. It is next noteworthy that this fresh anointing also now took place each time you enter a new service for God. I have been anointed by others many times before God had ordained for me a new ministry.
 .
A PERSONAL HOLY SPIRIT ANOINTING OCCURS FIRST BY PRAYING FOR IT AND NEXT IS DONE GENERALLY BY THE LAYING OF THE HANDS BY THE PRESBYTERY ON YOU, HAVING A HOLY SPIRIT PERSON PRAY OVER YOU. ASK GOD TO LEAD YOU TO THE RIGHT CHURCH FOR THIS.
 .

The new anointing of the Holy Spirit is a gift from God
.
(John 4:10 NKJV) Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living wate
r.”
.
(John 4:13-14 NKJV) Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, {14} “but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”
.
(John 7:37-39 NKJV) On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. {38} “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” {39} But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

 .

God’s anointing flows to those who are hungry for a touch from His Holy Spirit. The anointing has less to do with the person that it flows through than it does with the person who receives it, and the One who sent it, God Almighty.
.

Not only does the Holy Spirit teach us about Jesus Christ, but in 1 John 2:27 we read that “his anointing teaches you about all things. . . .” This anointing, which is not a powder or a power, but the Person of the Holy Spirit indwelling in us, is teaching us continually. In the Greek the verb is didaskei, a present active indicative. The Holy Spirit is continually teaching us. In John 14:26 Jesus Christ said when the Holy Spirit comes, he would teach us all things.
 .
What, then, does John mean when he says that “you do not need anyone to teach you”? It means we do not need false prophets with false anointing—vendors of error—to teach us anything. We are taught by the Spirit of the living God and through by the Spirit of the living God using the word of God and therefore lack nothing. False prophets are liars who are trying to lead the church astray. We have no need of their false ministry. In 2 John 10-11 we are told what to do with false teachers. John writes, “If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching,” meaning the apostolic teaching, “do not take him into your house or welcome him. Anyone who welcomes him shares in his wicked work.” We must stand against errorists who pretend to be very, very learned with their new teachings. Such people want others to feel that they are naive and don’t know much, while they have so many wonderful teachings they can impart. The apostle says we have no need of these people to come and minister. “Do not even welcome them,” he warns.
 .
Many evangelicals use the wrong kind of evangelism. They will tell people something like this: “Did you know that God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life? Jesus Christ himself died on the cross for you, and now he is knocking at the door of your heart.” This type of preaching and teaching is designed to produce some sympathy for this one who is dying on the cross. So you will ask, “What can I do for him?” The evangelist will say, “You can do him a favor. Accept him, receive him. He is standing outside in the cold; bring him in.” This type of evangelism is a perversion especially of this century. It can be called cheap salvation, easy believism. The same old flesh which was outside is now inside the church. It is not the type of evangelism preached by Jonathan Edwards and others. But it is the most popular form of evangelism we find today, both in this country and throughout the world. And what are the results of such evangelism? Same old fellow doing the same old thing. Nothing changes except one very damnable thing: the person becomes so inoculated by the preacher with this gospel that damns him that he will never listen to the real preaching of the gospel because he thinks he is already a Christian. But nothing really happens to this person. We must get back to the Holy Spirit, the chrisma, the holy anointing that dwells in us. Jesus told us that the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, the Paraclete, would come in Christ’s name to be with us forever. Just as we need to get back to the Scripture, we must also get back to the Spirit. Just as we must appreciate the Scripture as the very word of God, so also must we appreciate this anointing with the Spirit as the anointing of the living God who dwells in us. How God can dwell in a human being? It is a miracle, and yet it is true. The Holy Spirit dwells in us, making us able and strong, teaching us, guiding us, empowering us, impelling us, and giving us the power we need to live a victorious Christian life. The Holy Spirit comes and dwells with us forever, but, at the same time, we are told we must dwell in him by responding to his leading and guidance and living according to God’s word.
 .
Some people will emphasize the Holy Scriptures so much that they don’t know a thing about the Holy Spirit. Others say, “We are Holy Spirit people,” and pay no attention to the Holy Scriptures. We need to keep these two in proper balance, as Jesus himself did. In Luke 24 Jesus said, “All Scriptures speak of me,” and in John 15:26 he declared, “The Holy Spirit testifies of me.” Both the Scriptures and the Holy Spirit speak of Christ; thus, we need both the Scriptures and the Holy Spirit. We must get back to them, even if every other church in the city disagrees with us. Some may prefer autonomy and speak against us. We must ignore their opposition. We want to go to heaven and have eternal life, and the only way to receive it is through the Scripture and the Spirit.
 .
Hebrews 6: Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, (PLURAL) and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.3 And this will we do, if God permit.4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.7 For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:8 But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.9 But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.11 And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.13 For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,14 Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.16 For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife.17 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;20 Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
